What Is Your Saturn Placement Teaching You?

Where do you feel limited? What makes you feel angry/frustrated/bitter/disappointed? When you feel constrained, what themes usually come up? Surely there are many answers to these questions, but it can be helpful to consider them through the lens of your Saturn placement. The planet of discipline, rules, guardrails, restraint, responsibility, and maturation, Saturn holds a lot of useful information about what sort of challenges we may come across in this lifetime. You can think of Saturn as a tough, but effective, teacher for us here in Earth School, and their curriculum requires us to come face to face with the choices we’ve made and whether or not those serve our highest interest or not.

It takes 28 years for Saturn to transit the sun and when it returns to the place it was when you were born, the lessons of your placement tend to bubble to the surface. If you’re around the age of 30, 60, or 90, you may be familiar with the feeling that you’ve got to “get it together” but have no idea where to share – if this is you, I would love to talk you through your Saturn Return themes in a session or you can check out this handy post about Saturn Returns.

Though it takes nearly three decades for Saturn to journey around the sun, it moves through zodiac signs every 2 1/2 years – give or take when it retrogrades. This means the themes that show up in Saturn’s curriculum will be consistent for anyone born within this window (broadly speaking – remember it is personalized based on what house it inhabits in your chart). In my view, having insight into the focus of your Saturn placement gives you the tools you need to prepare, build some confidence, or at the very least release some fear.

Are dealings with Saturn always fun? Maybe not! But they don’t have to be NOT fun – ya dig? The aim of this post is to give you a little taste of what themes are associated with your Saturn sign and bring a little levity to the conversation. Growing and evolving is part of life and while I don’t always LOVE change, being a Cancer Sun/Rising, I have found adding language and a framework to my experience with Saturn’s changes to be an extremely comforting experience.
